Through the FSO Student Ambassador Program, students lead organized service initiatives from home in support of U.S. service members serving overseas. Since 2003, Forgotten Soldiers Outreach has supported more than one million service members and currently serves over 5,200 each month through its WE CARE Program.
We are grateful for the coverage and for the opportunity to share the voices of those we serve. But awareness is only the beginning.
Recent Media Coverage
Forgotten Soldiers Outreach was recently featured by WPTV highlighting the increased demand for care packages as deployments are extended. We are grateful for the opportunity to share the voices of the service members and families we support.

The real question is:
How do we transform awareness into sustained impact?

From Coverage to Community Impact
Media coverage shines a light on the mission. It highlights the extended deployments, the growing need for care package items, and the impact of connection on those serving overseas.
But sustained impact requires participation.
In fact, across the country, students, schools, and community groups often ask how they can help in a structured and meaningful way. In response, Forgotten Soldiers Outreach is expanding our Student Ambassador Program — a leadership-based, non-political service initiative designed to engage high school and college students nationwide.
Introducing the FSO Student Ambassador Program
The FSO Student Ambassador Program provides students with an organized pathway to serve from home while supporting service members overseas. All participation is student-led, school-based, and adaptable to district policies and guidelines.
Through school-based, student-led initiatives, Ambassadors can:
– Organize campus-wide care package item drives
– Lead handwritten letter-writing campaigns
– Coordinate club or team-based service projects
– Promote awareness within their school communities
– Earn verified volunteer service hours
Students and community groups ship donated items directly to FSO headquarters, where our team includes them in monthly WE CARE packages for service members overseas.
This program builds leadership, civic responsibility, and measurable community impact — while reinforcing the message that our service members are not forgotten.
The Student Ambassador Program: A National Opportunity for Schools
Importantly, the Student Ambassador Program aligns with:
– National Honor Society requirements
– Student government initiatives
– Service-learning frameworks
– Leadership development programs
– College and career readiness competencies
Schools can easily adapt participation to align with district guidelines and existing service programs.
As interest grows, we are inviting schools, universities, and student organizations across the country to explore becoming part of this initiative.
Why the Student Ambassador Program Matters Now
Even when headlines shift, service continues. So does ours.
Ultimately, sustained support requires sustained engagement. By equipping students to lead service initiatives in their communities, we are building a national network committed to meaningful action.
Awareness creates momentum.
Leadership creates impact.
Voices from those we serve remind us why this matters:
“Thank you for your patriotism, generosity, and unwavering support of our military families. We are incredibly grateful for you.”
