Send a Letter to a Hero
Your words matter. A letter of encouragement can lift the spirits of a deployed service member more than you know. Simply complete the form below, and we’ll print and include your message in one of our “We Care” packages.
Guidelines for Submission:
- Use first name only
- Include your state and country to show where your support comes from
- Do not include any personal addresses, letters with physical addresses will be discarded
- Email is optional; responses from recipients are not guaranteed
- Messages must be positive, uplifting, and appropriate
- Holiday-themed letters should be submitted two months in advance
Your words of encouragement are a vital part of our mission and a powerful reminder that our heroes are not forgotten.
Community Service for Students
Students can earn community service hours for writing letters, but please do not use this online form if you are requesting credit.
To qualify:
- Send your letters directly to [email protected]
- Include in the subject line: School name, city/state, and teacher’s email
- The teacher will receive verification of hours
Credit Breakdown:
- 5 letters = 1 hour
- 20 letters = 5 hours (Each letter must be unique to qualify)
- Community service platforms such as x2VOL are not accepted under our current verification process.
YOUR LETTERS OF ENCOURAGEMENT ARE WHAT HELPS KEEP THE MORALE UP! THIS IS A VITAL PART OF OUR MISSION!

PLEASE NOTE FOR STUDENTS SEEKING COMMUNITY SERVICE CREDITS
Please be advised that Schools using a community service tracking system such as “x2VOL” will not be accepted as it does not coincide with our community service program of:
- 5 letters = 1 hour of community service (each letter has to be different)
- 20 letters = 5 hours of community service
***As an alternative, students seeking community service hours can send their “Letter to a Hero” directly to [email protected]
In the Subject Line, Please reference the name of the school, city & state along with the **teacher’s email address**. The teacher will receive the confirmation of hours.
