January 17, 1989 – July 30, 2010 Executive Director and Founder, Lynelle Zelnar’s Nephew
From Zachary B. Sessions of PSD in Afghanistan (Michael’s Platoon) US Army
Dear Forgotten Soldiers,
Thanks for the boxes that you sent all of us here in PSD of Stansbery’s platoon. These boxes have brought us alot of happiness and relief from the everyday work and missions that we conduct. Especially we are grateful for the letter and collage of photos of Michael that you sent us. We have made a sort of memorial for Michael and not one day goes by that we do not talk about his sacrifice and that affect it has brought to our team. Here in Afghanistan we had a formal ceremony where made our final respects and also we made quite an impression to those who never had the priveledge of knowing Michael. Attached is the speech made on August 4th and hopefully it can provide a little more insight to his family of the type of man and friend his was to all of us in his team. While we can never erase that day in our minds talking about him and refelcting greatly on Michael’s deep impact has helped us all bring closure. To Michael’s parents we wish that we can bring your lives a deeper sense of pride to your son’s selfless and courageous acts. We love you and we pray even before missions that you are all beginning the long road to recovery. We are all with you.
From all of us in PSD
