The Four Pillars of Sustainability & Our Works

“Supporting America’s deployed military service members, to ensure they are not forgotten”

How Do We Pay Our Operating Expenses?

From day one, we’ve relied on a small but dedicated group of generous private donors to fund our operating expenses. It’s not always easy, but it’s an approach we believe in deeply. Rather than diverting public donations meant for our “We Care” packages, we utilize our coalition of mission investors and foundations who understand the importance of keeping our mission running smoothly.

For years, our warehouse space was generously donated, allowing us to focus resources on getting care packages to deployed service members. But when we were approached to sign a lease, we faced a new challenge—how to cover this essential cost without taking away from the troops we serve. Thankfully, a legacy donor stepped in and funded multiple years of rent, ensuring that we could continue our work without disruption.

This commitment to financial transparency and resourcefulness is what sustains us. Year after year, our passionate donors, dedicated fundraisers, brand partners, and loyal volunteers step up because they believe—like we do—that no deployed service member should ever feel forgotten.

 Impact of a Care Package

At Forgotten Soldiers Outreach (FSO), long-term sustainability is powered by four key pillars—Brand Partnerships, The Patriot Alliance, Mission Investors, and The Legacy Battalion. These initiatives ensure that we can continue delivering “We Care” packages and support our troops, no matter the challenges we face.

Brand Partnerships

We collaborate with businesses and foundations that align with our mission, offering opportunities for corporate gifts, in-kind donations, and cause-based campaigns. These partnerships help sustain our operations, logistics, and outreach efforts.

The Patriot Alliance

A coalition of veteran-owned businesses, corporate sponsors, and military advocates who commit to annual funding for FSO’s infrastructure and care package operations. Their contributions ensure we remain resilient and ready to serve.

Mission Investors & Foundations

A network of philanthropic individuals, private donors, and charitable foundations that provide critical funding to sustain FSO’s operations. These supporters understand that behind every care package is a system of logistics, warehousing, and coordination that requires ongoing investment. Their multi-year commitments allow us to plan strategically, adapt to challenges, and ensure the future of our mission.

The Legacy Battalion

A dedicated network of long-term supporters and estate donors who include FSO in their planned giving or multi-year commitments. Their generosity secures the future of our mission, ensuring that future generations of service members receive the support they deserve.   Together, these four pillars sustain FSO’s impact, stability, and ability to adapt, ensuring that no deployed service member is forgotten.

Why This Matters

Like any mission-driven organization, we need investors who believe in and support our model so we can stay focused on what matters most—delivering care and encouragement to deployed service members. Unlike businesses, we don’t offer stock options or financial returns. Instead, our mission supporters measure success by impact—by the thousands of troops whose morale is lifted through every “We Care” package delivered.

Because of their commitment, FSO is more than just a charity – it’s a sustainable, efficient, and mission-driven force for good. Their generosity ensures that, no matter the economic climate or operational challenges, we can continue sending care, comfort, and connection to those who need it most.

Legacy Champions: Judith Kelly & Albert Naar

Philanthropists and long-time supporters Judith Kelly and Albert Naar have been integral to the success of Forgotten Soldiers Outreach (FSO). Their unwavering generosity, contributing over $100,000 dollars over the years, has allowed us to expand our operations, sustain our mission, and ensure that no deployed service member feels forgotten.

For Albert Naar, a Vietnam veteran, this mission is deeply personal. He understands firsthand what it’s like to serve far from home, often without the comfort of a care package or a message of encouragement. His video testimony shares his experiences in Vietnam and why he is so passionate about supporting today’s service members through FSO. His personal connection to the mission fuels his dedication to ensuring that every troop, regardless of where they are stationed, receives the support they deserve.

Alongside Judith Kelly, Al Naar has been a pillar of strength for FSO, not only providing critical funding but also being an advocate for our mission. Their radical generosity has allowed us to focus on innovating and expanding our reach, even with financial and logistical challenges.

Mr. Naar and Mrs. Kelly are visionary donors who make multi-year commitments to fund the backbone of our mission, covering essential costs like logistics, warehouse space, and program expansion. Their commitment ensures that we can continue sending “We Care” packages to troops throughout the world delivering comfort, gratitude, and connection to those who sacrifice so much for our country.

We are honored to have Judith Kelly and Albert Naar as part of the FSO Legacy Battalion, proving that one act of generosity can transform countless lives.  Along with FSO’s other visionary supporters, (philanthropists, business leaders, and long-time champions of our mission), they fund the critical operational costs that keep FSO running. Their generosity covers warehouse rent, staff salaries, shipping logistics, and even the everyday essentials like office supplies and technology. By committing multi-year support, they provide the foundation that allows us to plan, adapt to challenges, and ensure that no service member is forgotten.
