Who doesn’t like to receive a little note of encouragement now and then?

Who doesn’t like to receive a little note of encouragement now and then?

From our inception, Forgotten Soldiers Outreach has included uplifting and encouraging cards and letters in our care packages. And the feedback we have received from our recipients has been extremely positive! Service members have told us that they are so happy to know that people still care about them and what they do.  Receiving these letters provides a connection to home and lets them know that they are not forgotten.

Since we ship care packages all year long, we are always in need of cards or letters and not just during the holidays. There are several ways that you can submit a card/letter to Forgotten Soldiers Outreach to be included in a care package. But first, let’s go over some guidelines to ensure that your card/letter is accepted.

  • All cards/letters are proofread for appropriate content.
  • Do not include dates, addresses or phone numbers. Name and city are acceptable.
  • No envelopes.
  • Do not request a pen pal or a date (yes, this happens!)
  • No need to worry too much about spelling, we love receiving cards from youngsters.
  • Handmade cards or boxed cards are accepted. Handwritten or typed letters are accepted.
  • Most important, content should be encouraging, uplifting and positive!
  • Write something from the heart.

Now you are ready to submit your work!

Go to forgottensoldiers.org and click on Write a Soldier to submit a letter electronically. We will print it out and include it in a care package.  All other cards or letters can be mailed to our Operations Center. We will sort these and add them to the care packages.  Thank you for supporting our deployed United States Armed Forces.
