FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FORGOTTEN SOLDIERS OUTREACH
“SUPPORT OUR TROOPS” THRIFT STORE
HELD THEIR GRAND OPENING/RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY

Benefiting our troops overseas and NOW on the home front

Greenacres, FL – On Saturday, May 4th, Forgotten Soldiers Outreach brings their mission full circle as they held their Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of FSO Support our Troops Thrift Store located at 3080 Jog Road in Buttonwood Plaza, Greenacres. The Greenacres Honorable Mayor Sam Ferreri, Deputy Mayor Rochelle Gaenger Councilman Pearce and representatives from Congressman Ted Deutch and Congressman Alcee Hastings participated in the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.

This big announcement comes as we enter Military Awareness Month! In honor of our 10th Anniversary of serving our troops, the timing couldn’t be more perfect, says Lynelle Zelnar, Executive Director and Founder of Forgotten Soldiers Outreach, Inc.

This store is different than any other, as not only will the revenue generated assist FSO with supplementing the much needed funds to help with our on-going mission of sending monthly “We Care” packages, but this is our perfect opportunity to show support on the home front. We will be offering a voucher program to our returning soldiers, as well as offer “Veterans Day every day for Veterans” with daily specials discounts for our Veterans, says Zelnar.

The Buttonwood Plaza Artisan Market also participated in the Grand Opening to welcome FSO Thrift Store to the Buttonwood Plaza Community, featuring “Mama Gizzi” Hot Italian Food, Meatball Cones and Ravioli Lolipops, along with other unique Artisan Market Vendors. The Road Rascals also participated in the festivities with many of the collectible cars on display. Buddy Young of the Road Rascals facilitated the raffles to benefit FSO!

Hundreds of people showed up for this grand event. I was in awe with not only the turnout, but after the ribbon cutting ceremony, it was like a Who’s Concert when people piled in to the store, comments Zelnar.

Bob Nichols, National Chairman of the Board emceed the event. JD Danner, a local Nashville Recording Artist provided patriotic Live Entertainment, and also sang Hometown Hero, her tribute to Zelnar’s nephew, Spc Michael L. Stansbery Jr. who died on July 30, 2010, and ironically, his gravesite in Arlington was also visited by Prince Harry.

The support from the community has been outstanding! Generous donations of great items continue to pour in, as well as repeat customers from all over Palm Beach County frequenting our store.

Bring your donations and plan to shop for a REAL bargain in support of our TROOPS, overseas and benefiting them when they return to the home front. Hours of Operation are Tuesday-Saturday 10am-7pm, Sunday 11am-5pm and Closed on Mondays.

Forgotten Soldiers Outreach, Inc., a 501(c) tax exempt corporation has been sending monthly “We Care” packages since 2003 to our United States servicemen and service women serving overseas, covering all world theaters. Their mission remains to be able to reach out to those who receive little or no support from the home front, by assuring that they are not forgotten. FSO has benefited well over 250,000 of our U.S. troops, benefiting even thousands of more soldiers who are serving on active duty with U.S. Armed Forces.

In previous years, this event has exceeded our expectations. As Forgotten Soldiers Outreach enters our 10th Anniversary of our serving our troops, we look forward to another fantastic fundraiser.

Andrew Snow was one of our first recipients with two tours and is now medically discharged due to TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury). FSO Recipient, SSGT Zak Castellucci USAF and his wife, Michele Castellucci will be guests at this event.

“Each year it never ceases to amaze me to see the support continue to grow from the members and their friends of the Via Mizner Golf & Country Club. It is great to see people come together to show their support of our troops overseas and put their political views aside.” A special heartfelt thank you to Art Snow and Todd Raffensberger, as well as to the Via Mizner Golf & Country Club and all the participants in assisting Forgotten Soldiers Outreach to continue to achieve our mission by sending encouragement to our deployed United States Servicemen and women currently serving overseas to all the world theaters.” says Lynelle Chauncey Zelnar, Executive Director and Founder of Forgotten Soldiers Outreach, Inc.

For more information on this event, you may contact Art Snow, Director of Tennis at 561-392-8118.

Forgotten Soldiers Outreach, Inc., a 501(c) tax exempt corporation has been sending monthly “We Care” packages since 2003 to our United States servicemen and servicewomen serving overseas, covering all world theaters. Their mission remains to be able to reach out to those who receive little or no support from the home front, by assuring that they are not forgotten. FSO has benefited well over 250,000 of our U.S. troops, benefiting even thousands of more soldiers who are serving on active duty with U.S. Armed Forces.
